- Wallowa-Whitman National Forest
- I only briefly stopped in the National Forst to take a few pictures of Whitney, a small logging ghost town from the early 20th century. It came to life with the arrival of the Sumpter Valley Rail Road in 1901, and died in 1947 when the railway was abandoned. Its peak population was around 150.
